Here’s a nice picture of some heart-shaped balloons adrift in the sky last weekend. I saw them and thought I should maybe write a love song. In general I find Valentine’s day to be a nasty event all around. You might as well take £50 and set it on fire. But I love my special guy, so this is a song for him, and for all you love birds out there. Best from Calendar Girl.
Lift me up, let me go all silvery
Planets move, while you’re lying next to me
Like the sun, high above
You’re the whip and the glove
Miss me, sweetly
I hide and you find me
See-saw, my toy store
Never know what I’m looking for
Right on top of every wave
Every wave the ocean makes
Take me up, mountains shiver under me
River run, running river over my feet
Like a world, holding me
You’re the clouds and the trees
Miss me, sweetly
I hide and you find me
See-saw, my toy store
Never know what I’m looking for
Right on top of every wave
Every wave the ocean makes
And I read it in a story book
A tell-tale heart is well understood
And you couldn’t do a thing for me
I’m well past help you see
Hear that sound, fly around the world on a balloon trip
Take my love, double it and triple it
Show my hand its not too bad
Not too soft and not too hard
Miss me, sweetly
I hide and you find me
See-saw, my toy store
Never know what I’m looking for
Right on top of every wave
Every wave the ocean makes
Right on top of every wave
Every wave the ocean makes
Every breath the world takes.
